Yoga is a beautiful and very comprehensive practice encompassing many aspects of our growth and development, however without knowing proper body mechanics, asana can be harmful in many ways. Asanas do NOT relate to the use of the body in our everyday activities. StraightenUP prepares the body for everyday activities and includes sports, dance, yoga, etc. StraightenUP is training the brain to know how to walk, stand, sit, reach, bend, push, pull, getting in and out of a chair, going up and down steps, lifting, and so on. There are specific muscles necessary for specific movements. If not used properly we give into gravity and we can slouch and slump foreword.
